A few weeks ago, I had the awesome opportunity to travel up to the Dallas area with my good friend, Donna from Donna Quarles Studio & Gallery.   We met up with a group of incredible friends and photographers for some girl time and lots of goofing off  serious photography-related discussion and activity.

We spent an awesome afternoon in Deep Ellum with six beautiful girls on a rockin photo shoot.  I had such a great time.   Thanks to Jamie Woodward and all the sweet girls and fabulous women who were there.  It was an amazing weekend.

a photographer’s math.

Okay, what an incredibly amazing and busy season this has been for me!  I’ll just go ahead and tell you all that it was touch and go there for a little while and I really wasn’t sure I was going to make it.  BUT, I managed to pull it all together in the end and survive!   And I have to say, looking back on it, it was absolutely worth it.  Scars and all.  ;) Unfortunately, something did have to give.  This year’s casualty of the season was my poor, poor blog.  I do feel really terrible about that because I know both of my readers are just dying to see what I’ve been up to!

For those of you who are not in the photography business, I created this nifty little equation to explain exactly (well, sort of) why I’ve been unable to blog for the last several weeks.  For those of you who don’t read Algebra a la Stacey, and I’m guessing that would be, ummm, all of you, since as per usual, I’m totally making this thing up as I go along, here is how this equation is translated:

Thanksgiving, plus Christmas, plus New Year, divided by approximately 649 photo sessions (it’s possible that’s a slight exaggeration, but it really felt like that many!) divided by one photographer, equals too busy to blog!

Soooo, what all that means is . . . I’ll be playing catch-up here on the blog for the next few days (or maybe weeks).  Stay tuned for some gorgeous kids and some fabulous families.  I hope you all had a beautiful Christmas and a peaceful New Year.  Wishing you all a healthy and prosperous 2010.

There’s something that’s just awesome about the bond between sisters.  I always felt like I missed out on something really special because I didn’t have one.  Please, don’t get me wrong.  I love my brother.  But I used to joke to him that it was so unfair that he had an awesome sister and I didn’t.  Hee hee.  Yeah, he thought it was funny too.  Okay, well, maybe not as funny as I did.  But, anyway, I digress . . .

Seriously, it just doesn’t get much better than this.  Two super sweet, smiley, well-dressed and adorably photogenic sisters.  They made my job so easy!

Thanks for hanging out with me, Peighton and Tatiana!  You girls were fab!
